The real deal in every respect. I would have given 6 stars if I could. Seven!

My story: 3 weeks on and off with Apple Support (including a remote diagnostic sent to their ninja-engineer squad) with the final verdict: solid state portion of the Fusion Drive failing. Took to best known Mac Repair Store in Manhattan and got $600+ est to replace solid state portion of the Fusion Drive, which seemed unwise to me, it being a 6 year old iMac. What if the non-ssd portion of the hard drive fails a week later?

Then I found Jed Weaver/Pro Mac NYC. His estimate was less than one third the Manhattan store's price, I agreed, and the repair was put in motion. I was offered a choice of replacement parts, with very low mark-up prices compared to Amazon list, which is where the new SSD hard drive would be sourced. Every time I suggested that spending more money would be ok I was patiently talked out of spending more than he deemed was warranted.

The repair was estimated to take 3-4 days but one last thing...Jed Weaver/Pro Mac NYC wanted to spend a little extra time on a hunch they had that my whole problem was software related...I was skeptical, I mean, two Apple authorities had diagnosed a failing SSD portion of the Fusion drive, but in the end I thought, why not?

The upshot? For even less than original estimate (substantially less), Jed Weaver/Pro Mac NYC fixed my iMac by patiently, thoroughly and exhaustively combing through the 6+ years of accumulated software detritus on my machine and here I am: 3 months later and still enjoying brand-newish performance from my mac!

Oh, and he restored almost every file I had,  from a very sketchy set of Time-machine back-ups.

I can't recommend this person highly enough. No matter where I am, how far away I move, how many more macs I own- this is my guy. And if you're smart he'll be your guy too. An Apple savant with integrity, it doesn't get any better than this.

The service provider, Jed Weaver, specializes in Macs but is very capable of dealing with Windows computers.  On this visit, he fixed some software problems on my iMac, installed a couple of new programs, cleaned out the computer with his own software, installed a new scanner, and instructed me on a number of things including how to use the scanner.

It went extremely well.  I've used him many times for instruction, installation, and maintenance and it always goes well.  He is helpful but efficient.  I think his charges are very reasonable compared with many others I have had who were not as capable nor as efficient.  I've paid a higher fee for people who weren't as competent and took a longer time, a great disadvantage when they are charging by the hour.

*  MY MISSING ‘FILTERED’ YELP REVIEWS !!

(Pro Mac NYC actually has gotten about 45 reviews on Yelp, however Yelp has only made 18 of them visible! Why? Because Yelp has "automated filter robots” which analyze reviews to 'determine if they are real or fake'. Guess what Yelp? Your robot review system sucks!  Yelp's poorly designed non-human robot system has wrongly and falsely labeled almost all of my totally legitimate reviews from very real customers who wanted to give feedback have been out and labels them as "not recommended reviews", resulting in my REAL AND LEGIT REVIEWS CLIENTS WANTED TO LEAVE FOR MY BUSINESS incorrectly being left out on the main page. They got filtered out because these are the first reviews these people ever wrote on Yelp.You can find them if you look hard enough but its not easy. So I have simply Cut and Pasted verbatim these missing reviews that Yelp should show. I guarantee 100% and can prove all reviews are legitimate, real, verbatim quotes, left by actual satisfied clients who wrote reviews.  Gee, what a great system Yelp!

(FIVE STARS) 11/2016   Jed is awesome!! Save my business life!! Apple Store wanted to charge me $700 plus tax to replace the glass screen ($500!!!) and $200 to replace the hard drive. I supplied the screen and drive, then Jed did the replacements for a fraction of what the Apple Store charges. AND he did it in less than an hour and a half. My total costs (tax included) was $350!! (FIVE STARS) 3/1/2013   I accidentally unplugged my iphone while updating it. The system and Apple customer service told me I'd have to reset the phone and I'd lose all my data. Yes - that includes photos! I hadn't synced the phone in 3 months and i have a 6 month old daughter! I was devastated!
