Since starting ProMac/NYC way back in 2004 “Mac Guru” Jed has helped over a thousand NYC computer owners solve problems by offering expert yet friendly, personalized computer tech support, upgrades and many repairs.

I can make an on-site house call to your home or office to help you with whatever tech problems you have at an affordable rate compared to the competition. In addition to house-calls, I also offer drop-off, offsite, or remote services at even more affordable rates when I don’t need to spend time traveling. Unlike say when you call the the Geek Squad you won’t get some random different kid who doesn’t know what another guy they sent before did. With my service,  you will get the same professional (and hardly a kid) the next time too, some one who knows your computer and history well (ie, yours truly ProMacNYC’s chief, cook, bottle washer and Main Mac Daddy, Jed: formerly with NYU’s IT Department, a Mac lover / Apple specialist with over 30 years of Apple Macintosh hardware and software experience! )”

I’ve seen basically every type of problem over the years. I explain things clearly, not in Geek Speak, so that you understand. I’m based on the Upper West Side and have numerous clients on the UWS but naturally support other areas in Manhattan, like the Upper East Side, uptown, downtown, etc. I can travel to most boroughs in NYC if there is subway nearby. Depending on the exact issue, it is sometimes possible that I might tell a client ‘you know a house-call is not needed, I might be able to fix your issue by phone or via a “Remote” tech support session’ and screen sharing, which is less expensive than a house-call. Of course many issues might require onsite support, or even you bringing in your equipment to me (UWS 86th St).

When you engage me you are getting many years of tech knowledge and experience to assist you with your specific needs or issue, quickly.

About The Owner: Jed Weaver is an experienced IT PROFESSIONAL (LinkedIn) who’s worked for years at New York University’s IT department (archived bio) and NYU’s School of the Arts). He is a specialist in everything Apple / Mac including: all Mac desktop and laptop computers, Apple IOS devices (iPhone, iPad, etc) Apple TV…what have you. Services include almost all computer & tech problems, many upgrades, instruction and tutoring, data recovery, purchase recommendations, many (but not all) types of repair, and more… all offered at a  fair and competitive rate – generally cheaper than the Apple Store, Geek Squad and most of the competition (one of whom charges a whopping $500+ to make a house call!
